A Footnote to Youth (Reflection)

         Marriage is something we don't need to rush. It is a big and important responsibility for us to take. And "Footnote to Youth" made me also realize that, really, history repeats itself.

 

        The legal process of being married is not that easy. And marrying at an early age is harder. At some point, being married in your teen years won't make you a better individual. Marriage can wait. And building a family without proper knowledge can lead to a family without proper family planning, just like what happened to Dodong after marrying his wife. Their lives did not become happy because they both did not have a stable job, to the point that Teang came to a realization and had a few negative what-ifs.

 

        And without any proper guidance from the parents who commit to an early marriage, some of the children can be the same as their parents are as well. like when Blas asked his father if he could marry his girlfriend, Tona. Repeating history again and again can cause trouble and so many problems for our country as well. It may lead to the increase of early marriage rate each year, early pregnancy and worst, may lead to our country to be even more over populated.
